2020 to 2025 Programs
Bridges and Pathways’ Australian ME/CFS Fibromyalgia Multidisciplinary Collaboration Clinical Research Centre is conducting projects that combine research and clinical care to address the needs of Australians living with these complex long-term physical conditions.
Projects are working specifically to address service and information gaps, patient’s health priorities as well as to demonstrate best practice clinical care to multiply services.
1. Innovative Multi-Disciplinary Care Pathways Clinic Project
The Multidisciplinary Care Pathways Clinic Project’s (2023-2024) objective is to increase the number of clinics providing up-to-date, affordable, daily care for Australians with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), Fibromyalgia (FMS) and associated conditions.
The project extends our current collaborative work by strengthening care and referral pathways through a Multi-agency Clinical Network. Our case managers will work with local clinics to facilitate ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia Management Team Care/Service Pathways.
Clinical care will incorporate best practice quality improvement programs to fast-track the improvement of services in the shortest possible timeframes.
Services are consistent with the Medicare funding of Australian General Practice and include private heath funding arrangements for access to additional health related services.
The Clinic Project will continue to work with Australian researchers to validate emerging tests and treatments for Australian practice settings and thus increase their availability and cost effectiveness.
Please note, due to demand there is a waiting list for services.
