Clinical Research Centre
Bridges and Pathways priority fundraising project is to establish the Australian ME/CFS Fibromyalgia Multidisciplinary Clinical Research Centre as a centre of excellence, one-stop-shop to streamline research and services for Australians living with complex long-term physical conditions of ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia.
The multi-agency multidisciplinary clinical research centre combines medical care, provider education and research projects that are patient-centred solutions which are linked to improving patient outcomes for all Australians.
Priorities include:
- Employment of a clinical nurse / researcher to coordinate a multiagency pilot of early diagnosis and management tools.
- A general practice pilot project which evaluates patient outcomes over time.
- Demonstrating appropriate assessments and management to meet the National Disability Insurance Scheme and Centrelink assessment criteria.
- Research projects on emerging tests and biomarkers from overseas and the private sector.
Funding includes:
- Patient care and salary gaps.
- Practice Nurse / research facilitator and data management.
- Doctors and General Practitioner researchers.
- University data management and evaluation team.
- Provider education and manuals.
