Fibromyalgia Education Programs

A better understanding of FMS will greatly assist in developing partnerships with health providers and making decisions about the management of Fibromyalgia and chronic pain. Current research shows Fibromyalgia management involved 20% medical interventions and 80% lifestyle adjustments. This includes sleep, movement, exercise, stress reduction, diet and multidisciplinary approaches to pain and fatigue.

The South Australian Fibromyalgia Patient Education Model includes structured self-management programs and modules that will enable the acquisition of the skills and knowledge needed to make informed decisions. They also provide opportunities to meet others in similar situations.

Bridges & Pathways and Fibromyalgia Australia are working together to identify current best practice services and programs available across Australia. We welcome your suggestions and input.
