Research Clinic

We are raising money to establish a specialist ME/CFS & Fibromyalgia Clinic and Research Centre at the South Australian Centre for Innovation. Being based at the Centre for Innovation enables us to share resources and skills with universities, health providers, and business startups. The new Clinic will be piloting and evaluating best practice medical care and the latest research into tests, disease markers and treatments. It will also be validating tests to confirm diagnosis to support Centrelink and National Disability Insurance Scheme applications.

We already have a growing waiting list, but the current Medicare funding does not cover even the basic costs of care or the research staff to evaluate patient care. All money received in this fund will be used to pay for the extra salaries of the doctor, practice nurse, research associate and health educator.

Our team have already demonstrated that if people living with both ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia receive early intervention, layered investigations to guide treatment and tailor personalised management, they will have improved health outcomes and a better quality of life.
